Resin driveways & block paving, built to last

We design and build resin, block paving and tarmac driveways for homes in Newcastle, Durham, Sunderland, Morpeth and across the North East.

Every driveway starts with a free visit. We look at the size and levels of your drive, where the water needs to go and how you use the space, then recommend the surface that suits your home and budget. The old surface is dug out, a solid sub-base is built and compacted, edging is set, and only then is the new surface laid.

Choose your finish

Three driveway surfaces, each with its own look, price point and upkeep.

Resin-bound

Smooth · Permeable · Low maintenance

A seamless, modern finish made from natural aggregate bound in clear resin. Water drains straight through, and there are no loose stones to kick onto the lawn.

  • Wide choice of colours and blends
  • Usually SuDS-compliant, so planning is simpler
  • Weed-resistant when laid on a proper base
  • Borders in a contrasting blend or kerb

Block paving

Classic · Hard-wearing · Repairable

A timeless look with endless patterns and colours. Herringbone for strength, contrasting soldier-course borders for definition, and individual blocks can be lifted and relaid if needed.

  • Herringbone, basketweave and stretcher bond
  • Charcoal, brindle, silver and multi-tone blocks
  • Easy to repair or extend later
  • Pairs well with matching steps and paths

Tarmac

Tough · Cost-effective · Quick

A durable, practical surface that suits larger drives and heavier use. Finished with block or kerb edging for a smart, defined look at a lower cost per square metre.

  • Good value on bigger areas
  • Quick to lay and use
  • Neat kerb or block-paved edging
  • Ideal for long or shared drives

Driveway questions

Quick answers to the questions we get asked most.

Can’t see your question? Get in touch or call 0191 245 5045.

How much does a new driveway cost?

It depends on the size of the area, the surface you choose and how much groundwork is needed. As a rule, tarmac is the most cost-effective per square metre, with block paving and resin priced higher. We’ll measure up on a free visit and give you a clear written quote.

How long does it take to lay a driveway?

Most driveways take a few days to a week, depending on size, dig-out and access. Resin needs a short curing time before you can walk and then drive on it. We’ll give you a timescale with your quote.

Do I need planning permission for a new driveway?

Usually not if the surface is permeable, such as resin-bound, or if rainwater runs onto a lawn or border. Planning permission is normally needed to lay a non-permeable surface over 5 square metres in a front garden. We’ll advise you on this during your visit.

Can you lay resin over my existing driveway?

Sometimes. If the existing tarmac or concrete is sound, level and drains well, resin can go over it. If it’s cracked, moving or badly drained, we’ll recommend digging out and building a new base so the resin doesn’t fail.

How do I look after a resin or block-paved drive?

Resin just needs an occasional sweep and a rinse with a hose or gentle pressure washer. Block paving benefits from a sweep, the odd top-up of jointing sand and an occasional clean. We’ll give you simple aftercare tips when we finish.

Do you add borders, steps and paths?

Yes. Most of our driveways include contrasting borders, and we often build matching paths, steps and edging at the same time so the whole front of the house works together.
