Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to common questions.
Can’t see your question? Get in touch or call 0191 245 5045.
How much does a new driveway or patio cost?
It depends on the size of the area, the material you choose and how much groundwork is needed. The best way to find out is to book a free visit. We’ll measure up and give you a clear written quote with no obligation.
How long does a resin driveway take to install?
Most resin driveways are completed in a few days. Larger areas, or jobs that need an old surface dug out and a new base laid, can take longer. We’ll give you a timescale with your quote.
Do I need planning permission for a new driveway?
Usually not, as long as the surface is permeable, like resin-bound, or rainwater drains onto a lawn or border. Planning permission is normally needed to lay a non-permeable surface over 5 square metres in a front garden. We’ll advise you on this during your visit.
What’s the difference between resin, block paving and tarmac?
Resin gives a smooth, seamless finish that’s low-maintenance and comes in a range of colours. Block paving has a classic look, with lots of patterns and borders to choose from. Tarmac is hard-wearing and usually the most cost-effective option for larger areas. We can talk you through which suits your home and budget.
Should I choose sandstone or porcelain for my patio?
Sandstone is a natural stone with warm colours and a traditional look. Porcelain has a clean, modern finish, resists stains and is very easy to keep clean. Both last well when laid on a proper base, so it mostly comes down to the style you want.
Which areas do you cover?
We’re based in Morpeth and work across the North East, including Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham, North and South Shields, Whitley Bay, Tynemouth, Cramlington, Blyth, Washington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Darlington. If you’re nearby but not listed, just ask.
